Maintenance Tips

LEATHER / SHEEPSKIN

As leather is a living material, it does not require daily maintenance.
Simply care for it with a leather milk to nourish the hide. Every six months, or after rain, waterproof your dry garment.

We recommend having your garment degreased every 2-3 years* (cleaning, re-dyeing, waterproofing) to restore its shine and unify its color.

* Price: from €72 + shipping

After rain:

  • Allow your garment to dry away from any heat source.
  • Once the garment is dry, apply waterproofing spray.

If you get a grease stain:

  • Apply Fuller's earth to the stain. It is a highly absorbent clay.
  • Gently rub the stain with a soft cloth or your finger, leaving some earth on it.
  • Let it act for a few hours (e.g., overnight).
  • Gently rub or brush off the earth.

PUFFER JACKETS AND PARKA COATS

Puffer jackets and parkas require regular maintenance to maintain their original properties and shine. Their water-repellent and waterproof properties can be diminished by dust, dirt, or sometimes even perspiration.

Don't wait until the last minute to freshen up your down jacket. At the end of each winter, wash, dry, and hang your down jacket or parka so that your garment is like new for the next season.

Hand washing

  • Empty your pockets and remove the detachable fur from your hood if there is one.
  • Submerge your down jacket in soapy water at room temperature (max 30°C).
  • Use a mild cleaner or a special down cleaner. Do not use fabric softener or detergent.
  • Rub your entire down jacket, and especially insist on stained areas.
  • Rinse and gently wring out your garment without twisting it.

Machine washing

If the brand allows machine washing, we recommend the following tips:

  • Empty your pockets and remove the detachable fur from your hood if there is one.
  • Close your down jacket, whether it has a button closure or a double-slider zipper.
  • Place your down jacket in your machine with your dirty laundry, which will allow constant agitation and aeration of the down. However, do not overfill the machine.
  • Use a mild cleaner (or a few shavings of Marseille soap in small quantities) or a special down cleaner. Do not use fabric softener or detergent.
  • Activate the synthetic or delicate program (maximum 40°C) with the gentlest possible spin cycle so as not to destroy the fibers.

FUR

We advise you to have your fur degreased* every 2 to 3 years (cleaning) to restore its shine. Please entrust your maintenance work to us in spring so that you are without your garment for the shortest possible time in winter.

* Price: from €135 + shipping

You can entrust your garment to us for storage (from Easter to Christmas). This will ensure you are protected against theft. Furthermore, storage guarantees optimal conservation conditions (learn more about our storage service).

How to store your fur garment at home:

  • Place it in a cotton cover (a cover made of another material could alter the quality of the fur).
  • Hang it in a cool, dry place, away from light, with moth repellent.

Maintaining your fur garment after rain:

  • Shake your garment to remove as much water as possible.
  • Dry your fur on a hanger. Do not dry it near a heat source.
  • Once dry, simply shake and comb it.

For cleaning, we recommend calling on a specialist in fur degreasing. It is a noble material that requires artisanal and specific expertise.
