Our story since 1949
Our House's story began in 1949. The first La Canadienne boutique opened its doors at 19 Quai Augagneur in Lyon, still the company's headquarters today. Very popular at the time, having outfitted many pilots in World War II, the waterproof canvas jacket lined with sheepskin, named "Canadienne," gave its name to our boutique.
Specialists in leather, sheepskin, and fur for 70 years now, we strive to offer our customers the widest range of authentic materials and quality products. For several years, this expertise has also extended to down jackets, the ultimate warm garment, often filled with goose or duck down, and embellished with fur.
At the heart of our concerns: your satisfaction. Advice from real specialists, the lifetime guarantee of our garments, the availability of our customer service, the wide range of services at your disposal (repair, cleaning, storage, alteration, etc.), all contribute to making your experience with us as satisfying as possible.

Since its creation in 1949, only two families have successively worked on the development of La Canadienne. The first from 1949 to 1981, and the second, which has been at the head of the company ever since. This family DNA is the spearhead and vision of the House.
Everything is done to ensure that every employee feels part of this family adventure: from in-store and web teams to alteration technicians, as well as administrative and management teams. Everyone participates in the development of the business and the quality of service provided to our customers.

A noble material par excellence, leather is a timeless classic. It transcends eras. Always fashionable, it dresses men, women, and children regardless of age or style.
There is no other material with which to maintain such a relationship: a leather garment develops a patina, wrinkles, variations in color appear, it lives at your pace, and beautifies with time. The more years pass, the more attached you will become to your "old" leather, without getting tired of it, unlike any other type of garment.
Our collections reflect all the diversities of leather and hide, each with its specific characteristics of suppleness, warmth, and robustness: from lamb to cowhide, from merino to Tuscan lamb, from buffalo to deer, from mink to fox, from entrefino to lacon. Our down jackets are also available with down interiors or technical membranes, trimmed with coyote, raccoon, rex, or fox, depending on styles and budgets.

Far more than simple leather and hide sellers, we are above all specialists and lovers of these noble materials. This is why all our products and the items we sell are subjected to quality control before being displayed in our stores, and/or shipped by our logistics team.
Leather quality, color, zippers, snaps, etc... Each element making up the garment is controlled to offer you the best possible finish quality.
Upstream, our partners, manufacturers, and suppliers are also carefully selected according to criteria defined by our teams: manufacturing locations and processes, animal treatment and hide origin, raw material storage methods, brand value, etc. Nothing is left to chance. This is also why we have chosen transparency by showing, where possible, the country of manufacture of each garment and the origin of the leather in the product descriptions.
